- Grief
Educational Background:
- Master’s of Science in Nursing, Walden University (November 2023)
- BSN in Nursing, Herzing University (August 2019)
- BS in Community Health, Minnesota State University, Mankato (November 2009)
- AAS in Dietetics, Normandale Community College (May 2007)
Professional Experience:
I have been in the health and wellness field for more than 20 years in different roles and positions, such as human resource, leadership, health promotion, and home health services for the elderly and disabled population. Furthermore, I have had the pleasure to practice as a registered nurse at a trauma one hospital in the Twin Cities for over five and a half years. Currently, I’m new to the role as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I am hoping to expand my knowledge that I have learned as a registered nurse into an empathic, compassionate, holistic practitioner who can bring hope and resilience across the lifespan.
Therapeutic Approach:
As a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), my approach to client care is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and evidence-based practice. I believe that mental health is an integral part of overall well-being, and I am deeply committed to helping individuals navigate their challenges with a holistic and individualized treatment plan.
I focus on building trust-based relationships with my clients by fostering an open, non-judgmental, and supportive environment. My approach is patient-centered, meaning I tailor treatment strategies to the unique needs and goals of each individual, taking into account their personal experiences, preferences, health, and lifestyle. In all, my approach is one that values each person’s uniqueness, treats them with dignity and respect, and encourages long-term mental health and wellness through compassionate care and informed decision-making.
About Me
My journey into mental health care is deeply personal and driven by a passion to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Early in my life and as a practicing nurse, I witnessed firsthand how mental health struggles can profoundly affect individuals and their families. It was clear to me that mental health is often overlooked, and people with psychiatric conditions frequently face stigma and barriers to care. This fueled my desire to specialize in psychiatric care and advocate for those who need the support.
It’s a privilege to walk alongside my clients, providing not just treatment but a sense of partnership and support as they navigate the complexities of mental health recovery.
