Professional Experience:

With over 20 years of dedicated experience in the field of mental health, I have had the privilege of working across diverse settings and populations. My career has encompassed roles in community mental health, Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) programs, Anti-recidivism and community re-engagement, and employees assistance and student enrichment programming. Specializing in working with couples, families, and individuals, my therapeutic work focuses on helping clients navigate life’s challenges, develop/maintain healthy support systems, and improve their mental health through self-exploration and relational connection.

Therapeutic Approach:

With a deep commitment to holistic well-being, my approach to therapy encompasses a combination of techniques and strategies that promote emotional, physical, and spiritual connection. I view the therapist-client relationship as sacred, personal, and interactive. Meaning my approach, while rooted in compassion, empathy, collaboration, and care, is tailored to meet the needs, strengths, and goals of my clients. I deeply respect the autonomy and perspectives of my clients and so I operate with the understanding that my clients are the experts on themselves and their personal experiences. Through this understanding, my role in the therapeutic relationship is to help promote, facilitate, and deepen their connection to/understanding of self to support them in overcoming personal obstacles, promote self-awareness and empower them to achieve personal growth and fulfillment. Utilizing evidence-based practices, I additionally emphasize the development of healthy relationship skills and effective conflict resolution strategies, ensuring clients are equipped to thrive both individually and within their interpersonal relationships.

About Me

When I was in 5th grade I knew that I wanted to either be a therapist or a Fly Girl on the show In Living Color. In Living Color ended in 1994, and thus I ended my illustrious backyard dancing career and began the path towards becoming a therapist. For me, being a therapist is a calling, an honor, and a labor of love. By both nature and nurture, I am person who is deeply rooted in the community and committed to advocacy and empowerment of all marginalized communities and identities. In my personal life I am a purveyor of random facts, a connoisseur of grandma activities (baking, crocheting), the person who can create/read your birth chart, the resident weirdo, a doting wife, a “cool mom”, and the friend who will laugh and cry with you.

Professional Associations:

  • Member of The National Guild of Hypnotists
  • Member of American Association for Marriage & Family Therapy
