Areas of Expertise:
- Childhood abuse and neglect
- Sexual Violence, Assault, & Domestic Violence
- Trauma and PTSD
- Eating Disorders
- Adoption, Foster Care, and/or displacement from family of origin
- Immigration, Citizenship, and/or Discrimination
Educational Background:
- Doctorate in Social Work, Capella University (May 2026)
- MA in Social Work, Augsburg University (June 2014)
- BS in Family Social Science, University of MN (May 2012)
Professional Experience:
I have had numerous opportunities as a social worker to serve the community in a variety of settings. I began my career in Child Protective Services (CPS) and transitioned to developing outpatient mental health clinics for children and families who experienced the trauma of abuse, neglect, and subsequently the trauma of the CPS system. I have also worked with Severe and Persistent Mental Illnesses (SPMI) through case management and civil commitments. Most recently, I have worked in hospitals, schools, and community mental health. Throughout most of these professions, I’ve held a small caseload for private practice and continue to find passion and joy in individual psychotherapy.
Therapeutic Approach:
I believe all people are innately good and kind. I trust that with the right support all individuals are capable of change. I connect most through authentic feedback, honesty, and a willingness to challenge my clients to hold themselves to their highest potential.
About Me
I am a proud daughter to immigrant parents, a sister, a mother, and the most enjoyable role, an auntie to many. I show love and care through long conversations, cooking meals together, and being in nature together. I always welcome a healthy debate and find that healthy conflict deepens relationships. When I am alone, I like to listen to music, hike, and kayak. When I am not working, you’ll find me napping under the sun.
