Therapeace Counseling, LLC - LaReesa Hooper, LMFT, LADC

Toni Taylor, MA, LPCC (She/Her)
Trauma-Informed Psychotherapist, Somatic Healing Practitioner

I am an 6 on the Enneagram

Areas of Expertise:

I specialize in working with high-functioning, anxious and depressed Black women who are navigating:

  • Chronic stress and burnout
  • Hypertension risk and high-functioning anxiety
  • Perfectionism and emotional suppression
  • Attachment wounds and relational trauma
  • Disconnection from rest, softness, and embodied joy

My work centers clients who are tired of surviving and ready to explore what it means to live with emotional ease, internal safety, and self-trust.

Educational Background:

  • MA in Counseling and Psychology, St. Mary’s University of MN, 2022
  • Trained in Somatic Attachment Therapy, Embody Lab, 2023

Professional Experience:

I am a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) with a Master’s in Counseling and advanced training in trauma-informed care, somatic attachment therapy, and narrative healing. I bring years of experience supporting women of color through emotional regulation, identity reclamation, and nervous system restoration.

My clinical background is complemented by a culturally grounded, client-centered approach that respects the personal and collective layers of healing. I have worked in both private practice and community mental health, offering deep, sustainable support for those seeking not just to cope, but to thrive.

Therapeutic Approach:

I bring an approach that is integrative, holistic, and deeply relational drawing from:

  • Somatic Attachment Therapy – supporting internal safety, nervous system healing, and reconnection to the body
  • Narrative Therapy – reauthoring inherited stories and affirming personal truth and power
  • Polyvagal and Neuroscience-Informed Care – helping clients understand and regulate their stress responses
  • Culturally Responsive Therapy – honoring racialized stress, intergenerational trauma, and the strength of lived experience
  • Spiritual Integration (as desired) – incorporating faith, ancestral wisdom, intuition, and rest as sacred tools

Each session is tailored to meet clients where they are, with compassion and curiosity.

About Me

I became a therapist because I believe Black women deserve more than survival. You deserve a life that feels like yours—where you can rest without guilt, speak without shrinking, and be held without performing strength.

I bring warmth, presence, and deep respect to the therapeutic space. My goal is to co-create a space where you feel emotionally safe, seen, and supported as you begin to soften.
