Professional Experience:

With about 9 years of experience in the field, I have worked in various settings including government agencies, nonprofit organizations, group homes, and inpatient facilities. My professional background also includes foster care licensing and child protection social work, giving me a broad perspective on the challenges faced by individuals and families.

Therapeutic Approach:

My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from multiple theories to best meet the needs of my clients. I consistently utilize:

  • Adlerian Individual Therapy (AT): I take a holistic viewpoint when assessing and working with clients, recognizing that their perspectives are influenced by family, culture, and society. I enjoy using Adlerian concepts and tools, such as the lifestyle assessment.
  • Person-Centered Theory (PCT): I believe in building a genuine, empathetic relationship with my clients. All thoughts, feelings, and beliefs are accepted, and I prioritize listening without rushing, allowing clients to share their experiences as the experts of their own lives.
  • Feminist Theory (FT): I share my thoughts and hypotheses with clients, encouraging them to ask questions. My therapy is culturally, racially, politically, and gender-sensitive.
  • Multicultural Theory (MT): I am committed to developing multicultural competencies, which include being aware of my assumptions, values, and biases, understanding the worldviews of culturally diverse clients, and developing strategies that are beneficial to them.

About Me

I find great joy in doing meaningful work and making a positive change in someone’s life. My passion for working with others guided me to a career in clinical mental health. I believe my role as a therapist is to nurture and encourage healthy emotions and behaviors. Through one-on-one counseling sessions, discussing methods, and encouraging the practice of different coping skills, I aim to promote personal growth, positive emotions, and positive relationships. I firmly believe in the resilience of people.

  • Member of the North American Society of Adlerian Psychology (NASAP) since 2023
