Professional Experience:
With my extensive experience in community mental health, county mental health, and school-based mental health services, I focus my practice on serving BIPOC and underserved communities. As the founder of Therapeace Counseling in St. Paul, MN, I am dedicated to providing compassionate and knowledgeable support to my clients. I maintain a small caseload to stay deeply connected to the therapeutic process, while also overseeing the operations of my independent therapy practice. This includes providing clinical supervision to clinicians within my practice, ensuring high-quality care delivery, managing administrative tasks, and fostering a supportive environment for both clients and staff.
Therapeutic Approach:
I employ a diverse range of therapeutic techniques and modalities, meticulously tailored to meet each client’s unique needs. Whether I’m addressing trauma, navigating narcissistic abuse, or supporting recovery from chemical dependency, I integrate approaches such as:
- solution-focused therapy
- trauma-informed cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
- Brainspotting Phase 1
- motivational interviewing and systemic-focused therapies.
This personalized approach ensures that my clients receive compassionate and effective support as they progress on their healing journey.
About Me
I am passionate about mental health advocacy and have had the privilege of being a guest speaker on various programs, including podcasts and Minnesota Public Radio (MPR). As an 8 on the Enneagram, I bring a direct approach with a touch of humor to my work. I became a therapist to help others navigate their mental health journeys and lead fulfilling lives. On my time off, I enjoy spending time with my partner and 3 sons (“I’m not a regular mom, I’m a cool mom”), as well as my dog Ninja.I also enjoy spending meaningful time with friends and colleagues, traveling, coloring, doing puzzles, and especially laughing.
