Individual
Therapy

Where to start?

A good place to start in your journey is with individual therapy. Together we can explore your goals, dreams and desires as well as learn about what is blocking you from the life you want and deserve.

Individual counseling is a process in which a client works one-on-one with a therapist in a safe, compassionate, and confidential environment in order to explore their thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and/or behaviors around challenging issues that they have faced in the past or presently face.

Is individual counseling right for me?

Individual therapy may be helpful if you feel overwhelmed by any of the following challenges and would like to learn alternative ways of coping with or addressing these challenges: depression, anxiety, relationship troubles, unresolved childhood issues, grief, stress management, and self-esteem issues.

What does the therapist do in individual counseling?

As your therapists, we acknowledge and work with you as a whole person and strive to create a safe, non-judgmental environment to empower, support, challenge, and encourage you. We can help you learn and apply the skills you need to reach your goals, help you examine unhelpful patterns of thoughts and interactions in your life, and offer you insight that may lead to healing and change.

Every person has inner resources that can lead them through their lives. However, at times we lose our direction due to unexpected reasons. During these difficult points, we need a guide to help us navigate life’s path successfully. Our intent is to be that guide in using those inner resources in rediscovering your own unique path toward a more fulfilling life.

Our experiences shape us and influence our life decisions, but these experiences do not need to define us. Negative experiences and challenges can cause us to lose sight of what makes us happy. By taking ownership of how these experiences affect us, we can make the choice to be healthy. As therapists, our goal is to assist you in facing the challenges, reconciling past issues, and moving towards making the healthy choices today that will shape your future.
