Areas of Expertise:
- Abuse, Assault & Domestic Violence
- Anxiety
- Attachment
- Trauma and PTSD
- Insomnia
- Personality Disorders & Psychosis
- Teen Issues
- Women’s Issues
Educational Background:
- PhD in Clinical Psychology, Walden University (Current, projected graduation 2028)
- MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Adler Graduate School (June 2023)
- BS in Psychology, Bellevue University (November 2020)
Professional Experience:
I primarily work with adults who have experienced trauma and children (ages 5-17). I have worked in various settings since 2015 including government agencies, nonprofit organizations, group homes, and inpatient facilities. My professional background also includes foster care licensing and child protection social work, giving me a broad perspective on the challenges faced by individuals and families.
Therapeutic Approach:
I believe that everyone is entirely unique. Because of this there is not a “one size fits all” approach to therapy. Each person needs and deserves a unique therapy experience that is tailored to what their needs are.
When working with survivors of trauma I incorporate trauma-informed cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered theory, the neuroaffective relational model, and Adlerian theory.
When working with children I incorporate play therapy and art. A big focus I have when working with children is development of emotional intelligence. This means that a big goal is to understand what emotions are, what their purpose is, and how to respond to them. In addition developing a healthy self esteem is very valuable.
Additionally, I am committed to developing multicultural competencies, which include being aware of my assumptions, values, and biases, understanding the worldviews of culturally diverse clients, and developing strategies that are beneficial to them.
If the topic you are seeking assistance with is not included in my list of specialties, please feel free to reach out. I am open to working with all individuals as well as couples!
About Me
I find great joy in doing meaningful work and making a positive change in someone’s life. My passion for working with others guided me to a career in clinical mental health. I believe my role as a therapist is to nurture and encourage healthy emotions and behaviors. Through one-on-one counseling sessions, discussing methods, and encouraging the practice of different coping skills, I aim to promote personal growth, positive emotions, and positive relationships. I firmly believe in the resilience of people.
Professional Associations:
- Member of the American Psychological Association (APA) since 2019
- Member of the North American Society of Adlerian Psychology (NASAP) since 2023
- Member of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) since 2024
