About Whitney Humphrey
Hi my name is Whitney! I am a counseling intern and I am very grateful for the opportunity to work with you and learn from the wonderful providers at Therapeace Counseling. I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling at Adler Graduate School. I began this program in January of 2021. I have always loved building connections with others and being in a helping role. I have worked in person-centered roles since 2015 in inpatient and residential mental health facilities, for a tribal agency serving children and families, for a nonprofit organization serving survivors of domestic and sexual violence, and other professional settings.
I was born and raised in Northern Minnesota and absolutely love this state. In my free time I enjoy spending time outdoors walking, camping, sitting by a fire, or just about anything involving water such as fishing. I also love spending time with family and close friends. I spend a lot of time baking sweets and making hats when it is cold outside. I usually donate hats that I make every fall and winter. I believe that all people are unique, capable, and important.
I have had training on the following topics: trauma, resiliency, sexual violence, domestic violence, human trafficking, stalking, teen dating violence, child abuse, independent living skills, parenting skills, mental health in the workplace, suicide intervention, healing through history, communication, psychopharmacology, human development, multicultural counseling, addiction, abnormal psychology, and human behavior.
